The Wonder of Wood Fair is an annual event and a great day out for the whole family, showcasing some of the region’s finest woodworkers and crafters, with a focus on introducing children to the joys of engaging with nature, and to entice them away from screen time and back into the great outdoors.

You will have the chance to:

  • Get hands on with a variety of crafts

  • Watch our wonderful, local makers demonstrate making their crafts

  • Wander our many stalls, bursting with handmade wooden wonders for you to buy

  • Learn important survival skills

  • Participate in den building

  • Listen to captivating stories from our storyteller

  • Go wild on our bale assault course

  • Learn fantastic circus skills and MORE!

Last year over 5,000 attended the Wonder of Wood, and this year we are expecting an even larger turnout!

The event will showcase a vast array of traditional craftsmanship, featuring live demonstrations and beautifully handcrafted pieces from some of our country’s most talented artisans. We will also be offering numerous fun and educational activities for both children and adults to take part in.

There will be locally produced food & drink on hand to ensure you don’t go hungry or thirsty, as well as live music from an array of local folk musicians.

The Wonder of Wood Fair is a collaborative effort between Artisan Structures, WonderWood and Foxcotte and is held at the beautiful Burwash Manor. Born out of our collective love for craftsmanship and the outdoors, we wanted to create an event that is enjoyable, educational and engaging. This is the only show of its kind where children, and adults alike, can actually get hands-on with wood; we want to inspire a new generation of children to get back into woodworking and traditional crafts.

Tickets are £10.00 each for adults, or £15 for the full weekend.

Entry is free for under 16s.

Dogs are welcome!

Please note that some of the stalls do not accept cards, so remember to bring some cash.

We look forward to seeing you, your friends, and your family in September!
